..attended a Student Learning Assessment Institute .

I attended a Middle States Commission on Higher Education -Student Learning Assessment Institute down at the University of Delaware earlier this week. It included some awesome presentations and a wealth of excellent resources. It's obvious that using this sometimes misunderstood thing called ASSESSMENT ,at all levels, affords great opportunities to enhance and make improvements in student learning. I will be sharing some additional tidbits with you as soon as I organize my thoughts!

Questions about the baby thing???? John Angeline brought a King's cake......

A king cake (sometimes rendered as kingcake or kings' cake) is a type of cake associated with the festival of Epiphany in the Christmas season in a number of countries, and in other places with Mardi Gras and Carnival. The cakes have a small trinket (often a small plastic baby, sometimes said to represent Baby Jesus) inside, and the person who gets the piece of cake with the trinket has various privileges and obligations.( wikipedia)

LBC, Business Studies, Team Up with Rotary Foundation to Host Visiting CPA from Italy

Pictured (left to right) : Business Studies Professor, Vernon Wiegand, Rotary GSE participant Marialuisa Iannaccone, and BCCC Student Tarnue Ballah get together for a chat prior to Professor Wiegand’s Accounting class at the Lower Bucks Campus.
----------------------------------------------
Miss Iannaccone, visiting from Avellino, Italy was interested in learning about the higher education system, American accounting standards, and the accounting vocation in the United States. Professor Wiegand graciously permitted Miss Tannaccone to “sit in” Accounting Principles and made himself available to discuss American accounting practices with her prior to class.
The Group Study Exchange (GSE) program of The Rotary Foundation is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young adults. Through the program, teams of professional men and women exchange visits between paired areas in different countries. The awards involve four-week visits, during which team members share homes with Rotary families, experience the host country's institutions and ways of life, observe their own vocations as practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas with their professional counterparts. This Rotary year, our district is exchanging teams with District 2100 in Naples, Italy.
