A PARALEGAL UPDATE from Tracy Timby!

Paralegal students participated in the Bucks County Bar Association Mock Trial competition in February. This was a great opportunity to showcase the program and put our students in contact with local attorneys and Judges. (picture attached).

Additionally, several of the paralegal students have been working as interns for local attorneys and the Bucks County District Attorney’s office. About 20% of the Municipal and Administrative Law class took advantage of a Service Learning component offered in lieu of a final exam. Students were required to work in a Municipal or Administrative Law setting for 16 hours and prepare a powerpoint presentation to deliver to the class. Topics included Filing an EEOC claim, Forensic Evidence, Immigration applications, Applying for Workers Compensation Benefits, Zoning issues and assisting Veterans.

HAD SOME CHICAGO DEEP DISH PIZZA....

While at an Industrial Careers Pathway conference in Chicago last week, I had some really good dish deep pizza! Anyway, the conference was all about employers, academics and associations collaborating in their efforts to prepare people for employment in sales and customer service in industrial distribution. What is Industrial Distribution? It’s the business of buying, selling and delivering thousands of products from multiple manufacturers to customers worldwide. The North American industrial distribution market will have more than 240,000 jobs opening annually. Check out their website at http://www.industrialcareerspathyway.org and know that we are offering MKTG150 in the Fall as a hybrid course ….Introduction to Industrial Distribution.

Thanks for listening!
